 AFL CHAMPIONS 2010 Error Cards
Select Today took a giant step forward in the way of handling of errors with a full announcement via email and their website of the foil signature error cards. Below is the transcript from Select Australia
NOTICE TO AFL CARD COLLECTORS AND RETAILERS:
Dear All:
Select AFL Champions 2010 Cards are now on sale.
There are a small percentage of Signature Gold Cards which have a noticeable shim line on the front of the card. Shim lines are inherent in foil, but some are more noticeable in this instance. Also, due to production error, the gold foil signature cards of Brendan Goddard and Shaun Higgins bear incorrect signatures.
Select Australia has noticed the problem and will provide an exchange service to collectors.

 2009 Select Premiership Predictor Rookie Set
Over the last couple of weeks collectors have been receiving the 2009 Select premiership predictor rookie sets.
These sets were redeemed when the complete set of 2009 premiership predictors were sent into Select at the conclusion of the 2009 season.
The set consists of 1 rookie card from each club. The players selected have either shown some promise already or are expect to shine over the next couple of years for the club

 2009 Select AFL Pinnacle (Series 2)
This series is expected to sell very quickly similar to the Classic series last year. Packs will be $4.99 but the albums have increased to $25 RRPThe boxes are still 36 pack per box but the cases this year have 16 boxes per case.
Captain Signatures are BACK
The packs contain 8 cards plus 1 holographic guernsey die cut card with the chance to score some great insert cards including the extremely hard to find Captain Signatures. Packs will also have inserted at various odds Medal Cards, Predictors, Double Trouble, Draft Pick Signatures and Rookie Sensations.  Footy Finals, Award Winners and Card Values
Now that the finals are upon us, how do these games and the ultimate Grand Final winner effect the value of the cards.
Although the overall value of team sets of the winning Grand Final team can be effect, it is normally the cards of individuals that will be effected the most. Individual players as they win Brownlows, Coleman medals, Norm Smith medals, MVP awards, and the Rising Star award, change the value of their cards the moment the medal is put around their neck.
Although some card values rise just prior to the ceremonies as people try and guess the winner the majority of the cards rise from the next day as people try and make quick profits from the acolades of these champions.

Extended Price guides - A new way to support the web site Over the last couple of months there have been many changes through the web site, a majority that haven't been seen but have happened in the background. Most of these changes have been with redeveloping the price guides to allow for more sets, more updates, more detail and better control. To allow this to happen many hours have been put in by the website development and assisted software programming.
To support the website it was decided that many of these new features would be included in a new extended price guide membership option. The extended membership would have access to price guides earlier and with more details including the new price guide trend graphs showing the history of the card prices. It will also include pricing for specialised and non-mainstream sets. For more information read on. |
