Quality of Scanlens

Postby absti3 » 24 Aug 2007, 23:29

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the quality of the Scanlens cards. Taking into consideration the old style method of manufacturing these cards and the stock used but also the fact are they value for money these are a big dollar item when bough as a set or individually. I have heard of printing issues with the cards more so than physical damge to the corners and sides.

They look pretty good to me, no printing issues as far as I can tell. Nice card, good colour etc.

I have heard this a bit bristly but hey thats how some of the old ones were too , just keeping up the tradition  Maybe with a newer machine and old style stock it is a bit harsh on the cards sides?

You guys are whingers! The cards are fine. If I were to complain about anything it is that the number on the back hasn't been embossed - it's just a plain black number. But even so that's nothing to worry about.

I like the action shots, the colours and the design, and they really complement the '63 and '64s really well.

Maybe you would like to buy mine then, you can not even read the number on the back properly. One of them has really bad edges, another one has marks all over it, big blobs of extra ink etc... Fevs one is a joke

Man that really sucks. If they're going to be inconsistent with the quality then there's a real problem. And it's not like it'll be easy to get replacements either.

Yeah Collingwood there have been some cards, i have heard of, where the printing has not been 100 % so if u r paying top dollar u want premium quality and as u say u cant just go and replace a card ltd to 60.

hmmm, maybe I should check my Judd out, I received it and put it away straight away, didn't spend any time looking at it, just noticed how small it was compared to current cards.
