Trouble Off Loading them

Postby adz2332 » 31 Jul 2008, 15:46

I have been watching a seller on ebay trying to off load nearly a set of these cards. They all started around the $299 mark. None sold (or few) He then put them down to $159, a few sold. Then $129 a few sold. Now most of the rest are at $99 and some still arent selling.
Ive been watching the 2 Port Power cards and may jump in if i see someone else bid.
But has anyone else had trouble selling them??
I would have thought they would have gone in 2 secs for the $129 let alone $99!!!

Bargains get them, they might not be the in thing now, but limited to 60 cards each they will in the future

It is probably just the wrong time to sell them when people are putting their money into Classic, but you would think a SA card shop would jump on them and sell the Port cards at $200 in Adelaide

Yer i guess. Its a bit like what i did.. I either bought the 2 power boys cards or bought a classic box. i bought the box.
But still may get them... Was just a bit suprised by how low the price was, and to be honest alittle put off by it

there are a few other reasons, also just before a release like series 2 many high end cards are dumped onto the market to raise some money to purchase stock. So people who buy high end cards have a wider choice of what they want to spend their money on.

Also as there are 60 sets now many collectors that wanted those cards already have them and this will cause lower sale prices at the moment, another 12 months and the will probably bounce back up again as new collectors want them for their collections.

Another reason is at the moment people might not have them in threir favourite searches and might be missing them.

just a few reasons why prices on some cards can seem low at times

Do you think it would make much of a differance if i went to sell the wanganeen and the tredrea but they were for differant sets? IE differnt numbers?
Would people want to get the two players from there team from the same set, same number? More then there two players numbered differantly?

Makes no difference to me im going for another set, these will be a great investment imo purely because they r so limited. They may not be "sexy looking"but they have good investment potential if u r looking for that sort of thing, especially at these low prices.

Why would it how many people have draft signature sets with all the same number, not many i would reckon. You have to look at it like its an insert set, which in theory it is being so limited. Most sets will be broken up in time so u wont really have a choice.

The limited number is the key for the modern day cards and they dont have to be signed ie Brownlow Predictors,Captains, HOF. Even though there are many draft sigs of many very good players i really think their big increase in values wont be seen for a good time yet. The Platinums will be worth more in most cases due to their limited runs but only a few of the players will receive top prices many players too are here today gone tomorrow as well . Being only limited to 60 and in most cases being champions of the game these cards will be very collectable in the future

Don't forget, $99 per card is still above the original price per card for these - about $85 each was the price I think.
