Where Is Cheap To Buy.....

Postby adz2332 » 12 Jul 2007, 10:11

Hey guys,

Im after a couple things, i have decided to take out most of my cards out of my folder and display them in soft sleeves inside top loaders.
So now i am trying to find CHEAP way of buying quite a few soft sleeves and top loaders. where do you guys get them from? i have found ebay isnt that cheap when your looking at buying lik 100 top loaders.
Also there seems to be different thicknesses of top loaders, which do you guys use? i was thinking thicker the better, yes no? If yes wot is the thickest.

Just while ur reading can anyone tell me that has had signed cards in soft sleeves inside toploaders, have they had any trouble wid them smudging over time or sticking? or anything like that?

thanks guys and girls

I used to store all of my cards in folders in the 9 page pockets, but I was finding that they take up far too much room and also the folders were becoming to heavey and I was worried about damage to the cards.

I now store my common cards in plastic boxes and I store my inserts in plastic sleeves. I have a large storage box that I purchased off ebay that I store all of my insert cards in. I have signature cards that are stored in the sleeves and I have never had a problem with damage to any of the cards.

Would be interested to see how others store there cards.

I dont use top loaders as they dont fit into in the storage box that I purchased. I find that the cards are secure in the sleeves but ideally I would prefer top loaders.

Commons: team sets go into team bags and are stored in storage boxes, extras are bagged into teams (not sets) then placed into another storage box.

Inserts: Placed inside soft sleeves then into folders using Ultra Pro 9 pocket pages. I use about 20 pockets per folder and have never had any trouble with damage.

Signatures: Placed inside soft sleeves then top loaders and stored in storage boxes.

I have found that some $2.00 style shops often have some great storage boxes that fit cards very nicely, for around $10. I have lots of them and the store them all into a cabinet.

Top Loaders: I always use Ultra Pro, depending on the card, I normally use Ultra Pro 3 x4 Thick.

they are the regular ones, the thick ones in my opinion are better.

the ones i use are for thick cards up to 55pt.

you can get really thick ones called "super thick" but they are very expensive even wholesale.

i think it depends where you get them from..

you have to be a registered business to buy wholesale in any case.

the main issue with these is they are heavy, so the postage price is what kills purchasing these online etc.

yeah, well i dont think anyone is going to sell them for the wholesale price in any case.. id suggest if you are buying online, you may be able to get someone to combine the shipping. It should be cheaper if you are in the same state.

Just do the figures, do you have a local trading card store? - you could check out their prices and compare the two.
