Question about the 1908/1910 Capstan flag cards

Post by collingwood » 30 May 2012, 12:53

Hi all,

does anyone know how many varieties of back these cards have?

The back of the card has various game rules and I've seen at least 4 or 5 different ones. Green's site doesn't list them..

Collingwood,
Johns book I believe has all the different variants, I'm fairly certain thats how I determined which ones I needed. Additionally, the Havelock varieties have different rule numbers for the same team. (if it wasnt Johns book it was the Skinners Cigarette card book, cant remember which)
For what its worth I have found the Havelock varieties significantly harder to source than the Capstan ones.

Didn't think of the Skinners book, thanks! I have just gone and had a look at it. Looks like I'm in for a bit of fun collecting about a million varieties of that one.

Yep! Every time I goto a fair, I always zoom in on those, and turn them straight over. Took me ages to finally get the elusive last Capstan Rule, I have no idea if some rules are 'rarer' than others. Still need 2 Havelocks. Good luck!
