I saw those MacRobertson's cards - he had a lot of 1/2D Champions and a few 1/2D Footballers (the harder ones) - but I didn't see a set of them? Maybe they'd all gone by the time I got there, which was early enough but not before the dealers.. :?

Johnny - don't know what Simon was charging for his Clarke Ellises - but I paid $250 for mine - well worth it for the condition.

Another one I've hardly seen was the Skylark FLour club colours (South Melb I think - I barely saw it). There was one very early on that was snapped up in no time.

Seems like the vintage cards are selling well which is good to see. Might get back into collecting them one day as it is good to find out about players from past eras .

Dang! Further for me to drive. Do we have to do the secret Masonic handshake to get in? Maybe 5% discount for Stonecutters members...

Thanks for the heads up Johnny. I'd dropped out of the loop with those fairs and didn't know when the next one was. Pity it's moved to Moorabbin - that's way out of the way for me now. Interesting to see whether or not it improves or reduces numbers of attendees.

Is anyone on here going to the fair at Moorabbin on Sunday as I am seriously considering going

Today was the first day of the viewing for Charles leski Auctions next week i view some of Cigarette cards and the condition of them wern pretty good.
I went there mainly for the 1950's Coles Football cards but found that 11 had been written on the back includin the John Coleman Card.
6 of the 1925 J.J Schuh SA Cards were creased the other 6 were in Good condition maybe good for eBay.

Went to the fair today it would have to be one of the worst fairs i have been to as only 100 people went throught the doors and most were just looking
There was only one dealer who had rare cards and he did well apart from that it was very quiet. This fair does not compare to sandown. Maybe it was new location.

I remember every Fair I went to as a buyer 5-6 years ago were always busy..
I do not believe that money is holding people back.
I think people are buying more online and having more time on the weekends to do other things..

Anybody else have a reason why?

Hmm, every one of these I'd been to at Mont Albert was fairly well populated.
Perhaps not aware of the venue change?
Saving their cashola for Select Champions?
Too busy watching replays of Friday Nights Football Park Triumph?

Sandown will be interesting to see what type of crowds it draws in an indirect kind of comparison.
