With more collectors buying bulk cards through cases and boxes, how do you store your spares so that they dont get damaged and are still easy to find. What happens to bulk cards packed tightly over time and how should they be stored.
When you have purchased a case of 12 boxes and put aside your set into a folder with the inserts you found, you sell of a few sets and team sets on ebay and find you still have half of the 3888 cards sitting in piles on your desk, maybe sorted into sets or team sets, NOW WHAT??? With well over 15 years of selling I have stock piled many thousands of cards in boxes waiting for someone to purchase. Is it worth holding onto these commons or should I bulk list them each series on eBay? For more info read on..... |

Why does a LIMITED edition memorabilia item, limited to 1000 items sell for $1200 when a card which has 400 of them made makes $100?
Why is memorabilia more expensive or trading cards so cheap! Take a look and make up your own conclusions but from the surface when you just look at the numbers they dont add up. What makes something memorabilia why isnt it just a poster, why do people buy memorabilia or trading cards, do they collect either item as an investment or is it just to enjoy the collecting of trading cards, the atmosphere of the lounge when it is covered in framed memorabilia. What about the resale value of each of the items and how are they sold. Want some answers then read on..... |

Posting, Packaging and Storing Inserts or single cards.
Inserts or individual cards really only have one truly suitable method for posting which is the Top Loader whether it is Ultra Pro or BCW or another brand most top loaders are very similar in quality. Are there other options to send individual cards, can a top loader be sent in a standard envelope? What about sending a couple of commons worth less than the price of the toploaders what is the best option? Are there any drawbacks with using top loaders and what about the good old fashioned cardboard how does that stack up? Whats some answers well read on...... |

Should SELECT by worried about CHIPZ |

Should Select and Teamcoach be worried about releases like Tazos and Chipz or even the mini released sets like the Richmond Football Club centenary set or the Collingwood 1958 Reunion set?
What impacted most on the two mainstream manufacturers, each other or non trading card sets like Chipz? Is there enough room in the hobby for all these releases that we have seen over the last 12 months and how will it improve or destroy the hobby if these sets continue to be released? These are some of the questions manufacturers would be thinking about at the moment as they prepare for the 2009 releases, they are also what hobbists would hope will help improve competition and quality of the industry. Here are a few thoughts of how these releases impacted not only on the hobby but the manufacturers, shops and collectors. People would have to agree that one of the biggest impacts onto the hobby this years was the release of the Topps Chipz, I dont believe anyone in the hobby truly saw how big the impact was going to be even with the early release (Nov 07) information of the product, and I dont think the early release information did anything to assist sales but did give shops and businesses one of the most important parts of marketing, the release information with enough time to prepare to purchase and help prepare for the cash flow required for the product. So Where did TOPPS CHIPZ have the most impact, read on....... |
