Extended Price guides - A new way to support the web site

graphOver the last couple of months there have been many changes through the web site, a majority that haven't been seen but have happened in the background. Most of these changes have been with redeveloping the price guides to allow for more sets, more updates, more detail and better control. To allow this to happen many hours have been put in by the website development and assisted software programming.

To support the website it was decided that many of these new features would be included in a new extended price guide membership option. The extended membership would have access to price guides earlier and with more details including the new price guide trend graphs showing the history of the card prices. It will also include pricing for specialised and non-mainstream sets.

For more information read on.

What does this mean to members? It will means that members have some options now with the price guides, as a general member you will still have access to all the mainstream brand pricing for cards like Select, Scanlens, Cigarette cards and Teamcoach etc with details on current prices and some set details. However there is now the option to take up the Extended Price Guide membership which will not only give you more access to further sets like the Select Figurines and specialised sets like the Collingwood Football Clubs membership card set but will also deliver more content information including the number of sales over the last 3 months on eBay, prices for team sets but now has a NEW feature showing a price history of the cards in the form of a graph. The other features that you will have with the extended price guide membership will be access to new release pricing earlier than the standard website membership.

What features will be added in the future? For this extended price guide membership we are looking at adding more information including descriptions and information for all sets and inserts, which will include production runs, release information, and set highlights. We are also looking at highlighting rookie cards, adding images for sets and cards and of course we will be adding more and more specialised sets.

Are there other features for members? We are also currently working further on our player and team searches which will have more content and details for Exntended Price members including listing the common cards for these members. Other features we are looking at currently are print options to create a printer friendly and pdf file formats for your personal use.

Why has there been a charge added for the extended content price guides? The reason for charging for some of this content is that it takes much longer to prepare and record this content, there has also been a lot of development time added to the website design to include this and many of the other website features. The money raised from this membership goes back into the website for further development and improvement and this membership gives people an option to help support the increasing cost of running the website.

Will the standard price guides stay free? We are hoping by having this membership option for people that with the number of expected members taking up the chance to support the website through the extended price guide that we should be able to keep the standard price guides free, however this may depend on future costs of the website.

Are there any other ways that I can support the website? Yes. Other optiosn you have to support the website is through the AFLtcc Shop (See link on top menu), at the shop we sell boxes and accessories where the profits go towards the website, there is also a option through the shop to donate to the website any amount that you would like, again all monies go to the running of the website.

How can payments be made? Payments made through the membership plans and online shop can be made through Paypal (automated), Direct deposit, Money order and Cheque. Currently I am using payment methods set up for Trading Card Heroes and using a ledger to track the AFLtcc payments (as payment for the website is currently being made by Trading Card Heroes).

How much is the cost of membership? I have set up a few payment options which are currently set at 3 months ($5.00), 6 months ($7.50), 1 year ($10.00) and 2 years ($17.50) .

How do I access the membership option page? On the right hand side in the user menu there is a My Subscription option this will take you to the membership pages where you have the option of the extended price guides or the free lifetime basic membership. Select the Extended Price Guides and Select the length of membership you prefer, you have two options either Paypal payment or Buy Now. The buy now option is for payments like Direct deposit, Money order or Cheque. Paypal payments will change your membership after payment has been made other payments will have to be received and then your membership will be updated.

How do I know if my membership has worked? When your membership has been processed you should see in My Subscription that it will show how many days you have left, the other way is the top right menu will change from 2009 Release Price Guides to Extended Access Menu.
